Back to The Future – Again!
Well, that didn’t take long! The Republicans have
proven that they are as tone-deaf as the Democrats! Did the November election really happen? It is like 1995 all over again. Can anyone explain to me the reason why the START treaty, Don’t ask Don’t tell, and the aid for 9/11 responders et. al. couldn’t have waited a couple of weeks before passage???? The Repubs caved and put wind in the sails of an empty suit – again!
I don’t know about you but, unless there is dramatic change with the new congress, and I mean DRAMATIC!!!!, it looks to me like, politically, it has to be the Tea Party or no party. There is just no hope to be found in professional politicians. Our Founders knew that and warned us and they were right. Term limits, true spending cuts, and true health-care and/or social security reform will never happen with politicians in charge. Forget it, won’t happen. The entrenched bureaucracy and special interest groups own the politicians. OWN them!
I think that there must be something in the water in DC. God help us.
And, as a matter of fact, He is the only one who can and He will! Those who trust in chariots and horses (or political parties) are lost whether they know it or not, whether they are saved or not. (Can a Christian trust in chariots and horses? Duh! Look around!) Jesus is our true source and in Him we can have all we need. His Kingdom never runs a deficit and He is not for sale. His rules don’t change and He doesn’t bow to any special interests or use polls to tell Him what is best. What we really need and all that matters most in life are found only in Him and in His ways. He simply asks that we accept the truth of His sovereignty and sufficiency by faith and walk with Him on the narrow path. There is no other way. We are not evolving to become better through increased knowledge. There is NO plan “B”.
As a matter of fact, the Tea Party isn’t the answer either. Jesus is the answer. The only answer.
