George Muller has this to say about money “The Christian should never worry about tomorrow or give sparingly because of a possible future need. Only the present moment is ours to serve the Lord, and tomorrow may never come. Money is really worth no more than as it can be used to acomplish the Lord’s work. Life is worth as much as it is spent for the Lord’s service.”
This from a man who began as a pastor who did not take a collection but simply put a basket at the back of ther church and asked God to move the hearts of those who attended to give as He led them to. Mr. Muller later started a orphanage that never solicited funds or allowed them to be shared by others ulimately caring for over 3,000 boys and girls trusting only in prayer to God for His provision. His purpose in living this way? To give Christians an example of the reality of God’s sovereign ability to provide all that is needed to do all He asks. Is this applicable in our modern American culture? What do you think? Let’s talk about it.
