Two Steps to Your best Hour

I didn’t meet Jesus until I was 35. Today I am 72. My first 35 years were lived as a worldly disciple of Hugh Hefner, the last 37 as a Christ follower. There isn’t enough space or time in this medium, and really not enough words,  to tell you all of the ways the “second half” of my life is better. Maybe another time. For the first 15 years of my life as a Christian I heard others talk about having a daily, early morning “quiet time” with our Lord. Since I am not at all a ‘morning person” I resisted the advice and tried every alternative I could think of to justify my resistance. (I do know all the reasons you can’t do it!) I did make a commitment to read the Bible for at least 5 minutes every day and involved myself in a broad...

One Life – The World From 35,000 ft

I’m writing this post from 35,000ft as I return from an overnight visit to San Diego. Flew in last night, great C12 Briefing presentation this morning, a super cheeseburger on the beach, wonderful visit with Joe and Denise, and home tonight! I’m connected on GoGo and on an Air Tran flight. Isn’t this an amzing world?! Piece of cake, right? Well maybe not so much! Yesterday morning I left home (n.GA) at 7:30am to catch an 11:15am flight. It can even help when standing...

One Life – A Life God Can Bless – An Undivided Heart

“The eye of the lord searches to and fro across the face of the Earth, seeking to show Himself mighty on behalf of he whose heart is wholly His.” – II Chronicles 16:9 Would you like to see God show Himself mighty in your life and on your behalf? Can you believe that, as much as you or I might want that, He wants it even more? It’s true, He does. It is His deal, His choice, and His plan. He gave us Jesus to make a relationship with Him possible, sent His Spirit to live in us to empower and guide us, and has chosen us as His vessels to show Himself to the world. There is, by the way,  no “plan B.” God’s only real requirement is that our hearts be “wholly His.” So, that’s the start point, an undivided heart. Do you have one? Do...

One Life – Christian, Uniquely Christian, Leadership

Just a short post today for you leaders of leaders who might be out there. I want to recommend to you the best definition that I have seen of what a true Christian leader is called to do, and also the very best, and most comprehensive book that I have ever read on the subject of how it is best done. The definition of what a Christian leader of leaders does is: “Moving people on to God’s agenda.” ...
