The calling of God on our lives is no easy task and to complete it and finish well we will need to apply Hebrews 12:1 that calls on us to “lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race
(our calling) that is set before us” by God
.
In the Movie “The Mission” (a must-see if you haven’t) there is a scene where Robert de Niro, who plays the role of soldier and slave trader and a new convert who had murdered his brother and joined the Jesuits as a novitiate, was climbing up a steep mountain stream on a mission, dragging a large net behind him that contained his armor, helmet, sword, and the symbols of his past life as a self-imposed penance. He had been told that he no longer needed to do so but he refused. He was about to be torn away from his grasp on the rocks and washed to certain death, when an Indian brother in Christ, who represented those that he had previously hunted and sold into slavery, reached down and cut the rope, allowing the burden to fall away, freeing him.
Some of us may be unconsciously doing a similar thing and need to be set free. We know that we are saved and as Christians we have all asked God to forgive us for our sins and we know that In Jesus He has. But some of us may have never forgiven ourselves for our past sins and failures and truly accepted the freedom that is our gift in Christ. God hasn’t forgiven us so that we might condemn ourselves! For any who might identify with this and desires ; first, confess any sins that you know of to God and receive His forgiveness. Just get current with Him.
Then, get to a quiet place and ask the Spirit of Jesus to show you any sins for which you haven’t forgiven yourself. As He brings any to mind consciously say, “Thank You Lord for forgiving me for that, I now forgive myself for”……” whatever it is. Be specific. Keep going until His Spirit tells you to stop. At that point the rope that ties you to any baggage from the past will be cut and your freedom in Him confirmed. (One time that took several hours for me.) Then…Press
on!
I have done this (a number of times actually) and testify to you of its value. We deny the enemy ground to accuse us again and again and we re-celebrate our complete salvation by letting go of what we need no longer carry. “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!”
Racing you to the Bema!

Definitely believe that which you said. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people think about worries that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
